I work exclusively in matters of estate planning, probate, conservatorships, Medicaid planning, and corporate business, and elder law. I operated a successful practice in my home town of Cupertino from 1982 to 2002 prior to moving my practice to San Jose.

Having had 24 years of experience as a lawyer in these fields, I have gained the ability to work through even the most complex financial situations. I truly care about my clients, giving them all the personal attention and legal advice they need, and then I negotiate the complex details of their situation with my careful, analytical approach.
I am very active in various professional organizations for legal specialists. I am currently the chair of the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization (BLS) having spent 4 years on the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Advisory Commission including serving as the chair and 4 years on the BLS. In my years as an elder law attorney, I have gained a great concern for the welfare of the aged population in California, serving as a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform.
I am also a past president of the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council and a member of Wealth Counsel, LLC, an association of law firms that educate the public about estate planning. I am a past chair of the Santa Clara County Bar Association Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Executive Committee and serve on the same Executive Committee of the Silicon Valley Bar Association.
My interest in educating people about estate law reaches beyond my clients. I have taught classes in advanced probate, trust administration, and many other areas, and have been asked to do many speaking engagements on the subjects. I have also written a chapter on special needs trusts in Matthew Bender's book on estate planning. My background in mathematics and computer science fits well into the systematic, analytical, problem-solving nature of being a lawyer involved in probate, estate planning, and trusts. Additionally, my attention to detail was cultivated during my 4-6 years of designing and implementing real-time simulations of US Navy training systems before becoming an attorney.
Outside of law, my interests include Aikido, drumming, gardening, kabalah, and Reiki healing. I have trained in Aikido as long as I have been practicing law, and am currently a 4th-degree black belt. (Visit my Aikido site.) My drum, song and percussion performing group is the Ashiko Orchestra with an adaptive African style, and we frequently perform in local community events and parties. Obviously, I don't believe in sitting still!
